District 308 B3 Foundation Grant

Supporting Lions Clubs in creating impactful service projects, strengthening disaster response and serving communities across District 308 B3.

Introduction

Lions Clubs International District 308 B3 Foundation supports Lions Clubs within the District by providing grant opportunities for meaningful, impactful and community focused service projects.

The grant program is designed to encourage Lions Clubs to take action, strengthen service capacity and respond to the needs of society through well planned projects.

Purposes of the Grant

There are two (2) types of grants available for Lions Clubs within Lions Clubs International District 308 B3, referred to as “the District”.

  1. Service Empowerment Grant
  2. Disaster Relief Grant

Each grant serves a different purpose, as outlined below.

Grant Types

Lions Clubs may review the grant purpose, eligible examples and approval notes before preparing a proposal.

Service Empowerment Grant

Designed to empower Lions Clubs in the District to organize large scale and impactful projects that benefit society.

Eligible project examples include:

  • Youth camp
  • Establishing a mobile kitchen
  • Setting up a mobile eye screening facility
  • Sponsoring nurses employed by dialysis centers fully managed by Lions Clubs within the District geographical area to obtain dialysis related certification, as required by the Ministry of Health to operate a dialysis center
  • Repairing schools or public facilities
  • Creating a community or school garden
Subject to approval by the District Foundation Board of Trustees, the grant may be provided as either a 50 percent matching grant or a full grant, depending on the proposed project.

Disaster Relief Grant

Intended to assist Lions Clubs in organizing projects during disasters or to help prevent disasters.

Eligible project examples include:

  • Disaster awareness projects
  • Distribution of goods and food to disaster victims
  • Providing short term relief efforts to victims of natural disasters
Subject to approval by the District Foundation Board of Trustees, the grant may be provided as either a 50 percent matching grant or a full grant, depending on the proposed project.

District 308 B3 Foundation Grant Application

Lions Clubs that wish to apply for the grant should prepare a clear project proposal, including the project purpose, target beneficiaries, estimated budget, implementation plan and expected community impact.

All applications are subject to review and approval by the District Foundation Board of Trustees.
